Oops - Tulle TUESDAYS

I am a total idiot. It's supposed to be Tulle Tuesdays. That sounds much better anyway. So, here we go. Sorry for the double wedding posts.

Invitations
I know I'm way ahead of myself but TheKnot's wedding checklist overwhelmed me. So I'm going completely out of order and I don't care. I have decided I'm only going to deal with the stuff I want to, and the annoying things I'm leaving for someone else. Not sure who.

I'm going for very very simple:

Tulle Thursdays?

What do you all think about Tulle Thursdays?

My dear friend Em Dot suggested it as an alternative to Wedding Wednesdays, which everyone seems to do.

I'm going to give it a shot.

Maybe we could have Manly Mondays to offset the Tulle Thursdays?

Diane Agron inspiration for MAKEUP
I mean, wow. I always thought she was sort of "girl next door" looking, and I'm a total Gleek. However, Nylon Magazine changed that in a matter of seconds. Thank you wheredidugetthat.com for bringing this cover to my attention.

I digress: I am obsessed with her makeup in this photo. Smokey eye, nude lip, paired with the extremely simple hair. Perfection.

Note: I will not be wearing my hair back like Diane for my wedding. My forehead is far too large.

Since most of the recipients of my Christmas gifts have 1) opened them or 2) don't read my blog, I'm going to share some of what Boyfriend/Fiance and I are giving this year. It's a short list, don't worry.

Boyfriend (Now Fiance)
They have since sold out of the tan leather one.

Hiatus

I apologize sincerely for the blogging hiatus. I was on vacation for 4 days in Turks....came back with some bling on the finger that counts.

As you can imagine, it's been a whirlwind of a time and I am trying to figure out if the identity of my blog will change, or if it will just be enhanced.

Some ideas:
1) I have seen a handful of bloggers dedicating one day a week to wedding stuff.

Wedding Wednesdays - David Yurman Bridal

By Lauren

Last week we were invited to preview the latest fine jewelry collection at David Yurman's Madison Avenue townhouse and what a treat it was. With the wedding only a few months away, how could I walk into such an iconic jewelry brand's store and not think about wedding bands! So I went right to the third floor bridal section where I learned all about the trends.

The popular thing these days is to get stackable bands, the classic way is without stones, and the safer tradition to stand the test of time is a simple row of diamonds. No matter which you choose you can find anything for both men and women at David Yurman. Oh and don't forget colored stones!

Diamonds on men isn't my favorite wedding band trend, however adding a new twist to a classic like these metal bands look very fresh to me. And I love the black titanium one, but I'm thinking to stick with the classics.

Which are your favorites from both the men's and women's lines?

3) Blogging Less Often (sad day)

The reality is, I'll figure it out and things will be fun as usual!

Excuse me, WHAT?!

Cookie Dough Dip!

Cookie Dough Dip

makes about 1 1/2 cups
1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 8-ounce block of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup heath bar toffee crumbs

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar and whisk until sugar dissolves and mixture starts to bubble. Set aside to cool, and whisk in vanilla.
Cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar for 60 seconds. With mixer on low speed, add in brown sugar and butter mixture. Mix until combined. Add the chocolate chips and toffee. Stir.
Garnish with additional chopped chocolate. Serves with fruit, cookies, crackers, pretzels or a spoon.

Nail Focus

<center>Some of you know this, some of you don't. I have been doing my own nails since I finally stopped biting them in high school. I maintained a pristine french manicure throughout college and have since graduated on to color, sort of. Every once in a while I'll throw some color in there. Most of the time I wear:
Mademoiselle - Essie

However, right now I'm trying to get into the Holiday spirit and add some color. As you can see from a wedding last December, I went the safe route. Red.

Bad Monday Cure

It's one of those Mondays. The entire office seems to be using their outdoor voices and I am void of blog ideas for the day. Meet Marcel the Shell.

Watch the entire thing and giggle. Go on.

Secret Santa

Anyone else have a work secret Santa circle? (pause: did you know that blogger.com picks up santa with a lower-case "s" as misspelled?)

I always like work secret Santa circles. I know it's like trading $20 bills, but that is $20 I won't spend on myself. It's much more rewarding spending it on someone else! Besides, who doesn't like surprises?

Luckily the person I picked at work doesn't read my blog so I can be very candid. She is a VERY outdoorsy kind of woman. We are talking Carhartt pants and plaid shirts every day. She's an arborist, so we forgive her. Not to mention she is actually one of the most naturally attractive people I have ever met. The point is, the other day she asked me where I recommended getting her nails done. DING DING DING. My list of perfect Secret Santa gifts is as follows:
______________________________
1. Manicure/Pedicure Gift Certificate - $15 and up

2. Starbucks Gift Card - any amount
