Nanners

I hoard bananas and let them turn black. Then I put said black bananas in my freezer (to Boyfriend's dismay) and leave them there for about 6 months while I pretend that I'm going to make banana bread every weekend.

Well.....consider this "once every 6 months".
Don't worry, I didn't put the shaving cream in the bread.....or the pumpkin for that matter.

The banana bread twist....dried strawberries...mmmm strawberry banana bread
Can't go into the oven without pumpkin pie spice and some splenda

Some strawberries snuck to the top!

Here's the recipe I used
Healthy Banana Bread

Ingredients

Combine in a large bowl:
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
-
Combine separately:
3 lg very ripe bananas (about 1&1/2c) - mashed
2 eggs
*1/2 c brown sugar or sucanat
1/2 c milk or substitute
zest of a lemon or orange (optional)
2 tsp vanilla or 1 Tbsp dark rum
-
Mix wet and dry until just incorporated.
-
Directions

Pour into a generously greased and dusted loaf pan - any smallish pan will work.
Bake at 350 for about 50 min - a toothpick inserted in center should come out clean.
Wait 10 minutes before removing from pan and placing on a rack to cool.
Enjoy :-)

* For sugar-free or a lower-sugar banana bread, replace the sugar with 1/3c of unsweetened fruit juice concentrate (apple, orange, white grape), agave syrup, maple syrup or honey.

In need of a new black purse

One piece of hardware fell off my only black bag and it's driving me nuts carrying it that way. I am in dire need of a new black bag.
This is like what I'm using: One of the gold thingy majigies fell off.

How is this even possible?

Today I came across a website called eShakti that has hundreds of clothing items that are great prices and YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE. Just think about when you go to the department store and you love a pattern but, oh no, you are 5'2" and the dress is made for someone who is 5'10". Sure, you can take it to the tailor for a mere $50+, after you've already paid for the item.

Ok Ok too much texty texty.

LOOK!!! FOR $59.95 ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Customizations are only $7.50.

Customizations include:

Choose your height

Send in your exact measurements

Up to 4 different pant closure selections
1) expandable
2) zip fly with button closure
3) zip fly with elastic back
4) sash

Length choice
1) Cropped
2) Ankle
3) Full length with 3 inch heels on (yes please)

More you ask?

What about this silk dot shirt for $59.95 as well?

or this

or this pleated silk skirt.

or these chambray pants

or these flared leg sash pants for $39.95. Only $47.45 for CUSTOM LENGTH?!

I could go on and on. And NO they aren't paying me. I don't think they even know I'm posting about this. I just think it is brilliant. How can they even afford to do this? Maybe I don't want to know......

I Finally Won Something

Is anyone else CONVINCED that they are going to win the lottery every.single.time they play? That's me. Boyfriend is probably laughing right now. Well, I always enter giveaways on my favorite blogs and I never win.

I finally won!!!!!check it out...I'm "Hope". Now, imagine me jumping up and down and screaming to Boyfriend that I won :-). My favorite blogger, Fitnessista, made me the most amazing macaroons EVER. I kid you not, I was making inappropriate noises when I ate them. (That's her hand while she taste-tested).

Check her out!

Also, I haven't checked the PowerBall numbers today......who thinks I'll be a 157Millionaire? Hopefully my luck hasn't run out.

Outfit Inspiration

I am loving winter white and black right now. Who am I kidding? It's half my wardrobe.

I like this idea for a dinner date....and I have been too shy to wear my new leopard heels but I think I could pull it off with everything else being this simple.

If I go on date night this weekend, I may attempt.......

Part box/Part homemade

My mom gave me some gluten free cookie mix when I was actually following the gluten free guidelines (I have since given up. I have celiac but only mild symptoms. I know it's not good for me but I am incapcable of cutting gluten out.
CherryBrookKitchen

I didn't have the 2 TBSP vanilla the recipe called for but we had some lemons laying around, so I added lemon juice and pumpkin pie spice to the mix instead. I then created a lemon frosting with powdered sugar, a little melted butter, a splash of milk and lots of lemon juice and grated rind.

The result?
AMAZING

Boyfriend and I devoured most of the batch. I think the frosting is what made these cookies amazeballs

yummmmmmm

Male Post of the Month

I am going to have a "Male post of the Month" every month, if not more.

This post is divulging a little secret that I received at my last job from my best work friend. You know how you have those? You don't hang out with them a ton outside of work but you spend about 40% of your life with them and so they naturally know a lot about you.

I digress....this is a girls' (and guys') best kept secret.

http://www.uncrate.com/

It is literally a site with anything and everything your Boyfriend/Husband/Fiance might ever want or not even know he wants.

Men, ENJOY! It's entertaining if nothing else.

Worlds Cutest Dog

I came across Boo (see photo below) and I had to share. It made me laugh so hard and brightened my day.

My first DIY project for the blog

I have an extremely expensive John Varvatos men's scarf that is SO warm but just way too bulky for me. I used to just wear it anyway but I've been seeing so many "eternity" scarves lately that I decided to take it into my own hands and FIX my scarf so that I can wear it appropriately. I simply sewed the ends together. It took a total of 5 minutes.

sad scarf before:
HAPPY LADY-SPENCER AFTER!!

The first photo was taken by Boyfriend. I have no makeup on, and what you can't see is I'm wearing running spandex.....so please excuse the EXTREMELY nakey photog.
The other two photos I took myself behind his back on the couch, he literally didn't even know I was doing it. :-) I'm so sneaky.

Doll Face

What if you were born looking like a doll? I DIE for those lips. Found Here
I have duck lips....totally flat. I want to get injections but I fear looking like Lindsay Lohan. Once you f your face up like that, you can't go back. Plus, I can't even wax my upper lip without sneezing (pain). I can't imagine a needle near them (shudder).

Things you (maybe) don't know about me

In no particular order:

- I walk a different way to work every day
- I eat my oatmeal out of a cup with a blob of light cream cheese in it
- I blow dry my hair AFTER I get dressed (including shoes)
- I read magazines back to front
- I like my patellar tendon massaged (kneecap)
- I hate soup spoons. My lips don't get to the bottom of the spoon.
- I am scared of rubberbands....I feel like they are going to snap every time....and hurt.
- I have never broken a bone
- I always press snooze once (so yes, that means I set my alarm 15 minutes earlier than I really have to get up...what, you have never set your watch ahead 5 minutes so you are on time? Don't lie)
- I dye my eyebrows
- I am TERRIFIED of spiders
- I am never late. Literally. Never.

I'll likely have a few posts like this as I'm sure that after Boyfriend reads this, he'll have a dozen more strange things to announce.

Red/Pink Attack

I forgot to post yesterday!!!! EEEEEK

Anyway - I've been seeing a ton of red and pink lately. I'm not sure if this is something an "everyday girl" can pull off going to dinner at Primehouse and sitting at the bar. I attempted something similar in this post but it was a fail. I'm thinking that maybe the looser fitting pieces would be more do-able?

I am really obsessed with those high waisted trousers however, I cannot find a pair in my price rance for the LIFE of me. I really want these from ShopBop. WHERE CAN I GET THEM FOR UNDER $100? HELPPPP.

Shall We Try This again?

Inspiration photo from Cupcakes and Cashmere for date night or J Dubs' birthday party coming up this weekend. Location: TBD.
My attempt to come....

On another note...I came accross this cheap website for accessories on another blog maytedoll21.blogspot.com. I am loving pretty much every necklace and they would go well with the above attempted outfit, but they won't be here in time for the birthday party on Saturday. What to do?

Reader's Request (NOT SO GIRLY)

My friend kindly bluntly asked me for a post that is dood focused (I like to spell it that way...get used to it). So, recently I've been perusing the internet for a quilted jacket for myself and discovered that Boyfriend is interested in one as well. Perfect for Fall! He has an aversion to pockets on the front of jackets so I tried my hardest to find the least amount of "shtuff" on the front.

Here are my favorites:

Taking Care of Business

After a long day of football in Converse, I needed to stretch things out. I bought these gel toes. Same here. They feel amazing and my bunions look non-existent afterwards (for about 4 minutes).

It looks like I'm wearing flesh colored toenail polish...weird. I'm not. It's a coral Essie color I think it's called "Haute as Hello".

A couple shots from the game....

This was just as we got there (9am) before we were totally set up. It filled up within an hour. Good times with my best friends from college.

I have been in the habit of rooting for the Giants by default (living in NYC etc...) but when the Giants play the Bills, I owe it to the upstate people to go back to my roots.

Side Note: I never quite understand the nasty fans that bitch and moan about the opposing team being there. What do they expect? If they want to watch a football game with no opposing fans around them, they should probably watch the game at home. Just my two cents.
